Mo had a lot of fun as well, finding worms and potato bugs in the flowerbeds. She went nuts over the worms especially:
It was hilarious to watch her pick up and hold a worm for the first time; she was screaming with excitement and yelled "they tickle me!" over and over again. As you can see from the second pic, there was quite a bit of crap on the patio (decomposing leaves, etc) that made a perfect home for worms: I uncovered quite a colony as I swept. Mo found a bucket and we transferred most into it, complete with leaves, grass, dirt, etc. She had a hard time comprehending that worms need dark, damp places--she wanted to play with them, as if they were a pet, LOL. Maybe a wormery would be a good gift idea---must tell grandparents. :)
I accomplished quite a bit yesterday and have to say, I'm pretty proud of myself :) Some time ago I resolved to exercise more---exercise at all, really---and can't delay any longer. The weather is cooperating, and I am feeling motivated. Yesterday I walked for an hour---well, I pushed the girls in our stroller made for two, and that is a serious workout. When it was just Mo and me, she and I could do the walk in about 35 minutes. Now with Maddie and a stroller that's twice the size of our single, it takes me a little over an hour. Not too bad, you're probably thinking. But here's the deal: I don't think the extra weight of the stroller has impacted the time as much as my lack of exercise has. It's been a long, lazy winter, LOL. Keeping the yard in shape and walking with the girls is about my speed for exercise right now. I'm toying with the idea of a membership at the Y, but it's pretty expensive. The girls would like it there, I'm sure, as they have classes and a playroom, and I could drop them there while I'm on the treadmill or whatever. Very tempting, but something to save for.
Ok, I'm back to work now. Hope all have a lovely Monday.
