Lots on my plate today

I have so much to do I hardly know where to begin. Today's all about EpiCenter, a project we're working on for the NPAIHB . Copying and pasting from Word to InDesign. I'm a newbie to InDesign, and have used Word since its inception (well, maybe not that far back, but I did take my first training course in Word back in 1992.) It's going well so far, I think.

I was recently hired by MacKinnon Communications as an Editor, but that job title is a bit of a catch-all, really. I've been working for Maisie for quite some time now as an independent contractor, just like I do with AQA and ChaCha. ChaCha. What a joke. Not meaning to get off the subject, but ChaCha (a free mobile answer service) recently cut our pay by 50%. Come on! I know times are tight and all, but 50%? It's really hard to get motivated to work for less than $4/hour. At least with AQA (another mobile answer service, but in the UK) I can easily earn $7.50/hour. It's not quite minimum wage, but the convenience factor makes up for that.

Anyway, my new job is really taking off. I earned enough to cover the mortgage and all the expenses last month, and DH's pension starts May 3rd. So we should be ok financially; in fact, I think we're better off than most. Imagine if his pension wasn't available. He'd have to join the millions of other unemployed people in this country.

The best bit is that I work from home and can wear my sweatpants instead of spending tons of money on "work clothes." I haven't worn a pair of pantyhose in months! LOVE IT!

Now I'm just procrastinating. Time to get back to work.
