Why I'm a total geek

So today I'm trying to get some studying done, but the lovely sun this morning has quite distracted me from any serious thoughts. I also have editing to do, but feck it. We haven't had this much sun in months, so I'm going to enjoy myself this morning and take the kids to the park later today. It's supposed to get up to 60F today, w00t!!!

So, why am I a geek, you ask? Let me clarify: I don't mean geek as in that science/tech- nerdy-pocket protector and horned rimmed glasses wearing-Bill Gates type of geek, oh no. I mean the kind of geek that is an adult who thinks they're still cool, hip, and with it, when in fact nothing is further from the truth. Remember that South Park episode where the kids all took Ritalin and then agreed to go with their lame parents to an even lamer Phil Collins concert? And the parents though Phil Collins was cool? OMG! I realized today that *I* am those parents!

Yesterday I found a box of old CDs in the garage and had the bright idea of loading some into iTunes. So, right now, I am grooving along to *gasp* Kenny Loggins and loving it. Man, I have crossed the line from cool young woman to boring old adult. Remember when you were a kid and mom didn't want to listen to the Top 40 station in the car, and you vowed that you would always love pop music? Gaah, I am now that mom! I can't abide rap or what passes for Top 40 these days.

I also loaded my FAVORITE cd of all time, Robbie Williams Greatest Hits. I know my US friends have no clue who he is, despite my repeated playing of his cd......maybe this pic will get their attention:

So what other golden oldies did I load? Read it and laugh:
  • Van Morrison
  • Ashley MacIsaac
  • Bob Marley
  • Duran Duran
  • Sting
  • Sonia Dada
  • U2
  • Bonnie Raitt
  • Earth, Wind & Fire
  • Stevie Ray Vaughn
So there you have it. I am officially "uncool." Ohwell, I don't really care; I'm still grooving to my tunes. :)
